Showing the National Street Gazetteer for England and Wales
Under legislation Local Highway Authorities are required to create and maintain a database of all their streets, this data is collated nationally and creates the National Street Gazetteer (NSG). This data is primarily used to by local highway authorities and utilities to coordinate street works but also provides useful public information such as maintenance responsibility.
Findmystreet.co.uk shows every street that’s held in the National Street Gazetteer (NSG). For England and Wales, findmystreet.co.uk will tell you where a street is, what its official name is, and the maintenance responsibility of that street.
With findmystreet.co.uk, you can find every street that’s recorded in the NSG. It may also help you to find out which streets aren’t.
Please note, findmystreet.co.uk only provides a view of local authority street data and does not collect or change details of streets in England and Wales, this is the responsibility of Local Highway Authorities. For more information on contacting your local highway authority please visit the Missing Streets page.
GeoPlace is providing this service on behalf of Local Highway Authorities and (along with other PSMA Members) they are entitled to access and use the data in accordance with their PSMA Member Licence.
